The Helsinki City Tourist & Convention Bureau has teamed up with Oy Hudle Ltd to provide a new SMS service for visitors to Helsinki. The new service allows visitors to receive information straight to their mobile devices about current events and offerings. The service is being launched first in Finnish with an English-language version to follow later.
“This free-of-charge and easy-to-use service is a convenient, fast and up-to-date way for visitors to find out information about different events and activities in Helsinki. It also offers service providers the chance to reach visitors to Helsinki. For example, the service can be used to sell the last remaining tickets to a performance. At the same time the service helps people employed in customer service, for example in hotels and restaurants,” says Tuulikki Becker, Deputy Tourist Direct at the Tourist & Convention Bureau.
The service can be accessed by sending the message HELSINKI by SMS to the number 16511 and cancelled by sending the message HELSINKI SULJE to the same number.
